How British Are You – 27th MarchENGINE ROOM PRESENTED BY OMNIBUS THEATRE

BY VICTOR RIOS
A tv-show-like to test how British are we?, through the life journey of a migrant who came from the high altitude of the Andes as a young person, embraces the cultural change in London, and now is conflicted to identify himself. Is he Bolivian? Is he Latino? Is he British or what is he? Or what are we?
Victor Rios is a British Latin American, theatre maker and video facilitator, his work involves participatory arts to enhance the voices of unheard communities through the use of arts. He has been commissioned by several charities to work with different types of communities such as Refugees, Adults with learning disabilities, BAME and the Latin American Community.
In this piece, he explores his journey of migration through cultural adaptation and looking for answers on his own identity linking his memories of childhood, and exploring the usage of video mapping with a new piece of writing.
