Actors biography:

Aila Swan is an actor and musical theatre performer from Scotland. She grew up surrounded by music and was involved in a variety of orchestras and choirs, including the National Youth Choir of Scotland. She initially studied musical theatre at the London College of Music, before furthering her training with an MA in Acting at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire.

Since graduating, Aila has been involved in a number of exciting projects including a satire about the Horizon computer scandal, False Accounts, and performing as Kate Monster in Avenue Q.

She has recently originated the roles of God/Sibling/Death in Godfather Death: A Grimm’s Musical which has just won an Off-West End award for the best musical/circus at the Edinburgh Fringe.

Aila is a versatile singer skilled in harmony work and also plays the French horn. She can horse ride, ice skate and is skilled in stage combat. She loves multi-roling and is always learning new accents to perform in!

Aila is passionate about being involved with new and original writing, especially by female and Scottish playwrights. Having debuted her one-woman show, Twixt, at Birmingham Fest and the Dundee Fringe she is keen to continue writing and creating her own work.
