Actors biography:

Daniel  J G Drever was born and raised in Orkney and now lives in Glasgow.

Coming from a creative family, he has been influenced by those closest to him, particularly his Grandad, a well-known local artist. This relationship sparked a passion for painting, and two of his works are owned by Penn & Teller.

Daniel’s upbringing in Orkney, where creative arts are integral to the community, provided early opportunities for performance. He sang in choirs for special events attended by dignitaries and joined local theatre groups, developing skills both on stage and behind the scenes. At twelve, he began learning the snare drum in a Pipe Band established by his great grandad in 1919, leading to performances at events such as ‘The Queen’s Baton Relay’ for the Commonwealth Games and ‘The Battle of Jutland Centenary’.

In 2017, Daniel moved to Glasgow to study ‘Technical Theatre and Production Arts’ for two years, seeking to understand the process of bringing a production from concept to stage. This experience equipped him with invaluable knowledge across various departments. The lockdown prompted a return to performance roots, resulting in a HNC in Acting and Performance, followed by a HND and a BA (Hons) in Drama, Theatre & Performance. In 2024, he was selected for ‘The Scottish Graduate Showcase’ after a national callout.

Daniel is also a writer, sharing his experiences of growing up as trans on an island.

One of the few twenty-somethings who appreciates references to 1970s sitcoms.
