Actors biography:

David Gardner is a Scottish actor, theatre-maker, and creative producer, trained at The MGA Academy of Performing Arts in Edinburgh. In 2023, he graduated with a First-Class degree, becoming the first in his family to do so. Coming from a working-class background, and as a disabled queer artist, David is passionate about creating work that feels authentic, accessible, and deeply human. His career bridges acting, producing, and content creation, all tied together by a commitment to telling stories that matter.

David’s early career combined creativity with advocacy. He worked on campaigns with organisations such as LadBible and The World Federation of Haemophilia, producing content that informed and supported people living with Haemophilia worldwide. This led to collaborations with pharmaceutical companies including Sobi, Roche, Chugai, and BioMarin, creating global digital content that blended storytelling with education at a professional standard. Alongside this, David developed his craft through professional collaborations with AIT Productions and Stray Dog Productions, gaining valuable experience in projects that demanded both artistic rigour and sensitivity to subject matter. These opportunities established him as a versatile creative voice, equally at home in socially engaged projects and professional theatre contexts.

In 2025, David co-founded Balancing Act Theatre, a company committed to telling stories that reflect the diversity of the human experience. The company launched with a scratch night, platforming new voices, followed by its debut production, Where Were You?, at the Edinburgh Fringe. As producer, David oversaw the project from development to performance, shaping its identity as an ensemble-driven piece of new writing. Through Balancing Act, he continues to cultivate spaces for bold, collaborative theatre that balances honesty, humour, and heart.

David is now building a career that merges performance with creative leadership, always seeking opportunities that challenge perspectives, celebrate authenticity, and spark meaningful connection.
