Actors biography:

Finlay, who hails from the quaint wee town of Brechin (it’s between Dundee and Aberdeen!) is a recent graduate from Napier’s Stage and Screen Acting course. Not surrounded by theatre, he had to go seek it out himself with trips to Aberdeen and Dundee to watch anything he could get his hands on!

Finlay performed his first play at 18 years old playing the Woodcutter in Brechin High School’s production of Hansel and Gretel and has not looked back since. At Napier Finlay developed a huge love and desire for Shakespeare and classical theatre with his interpretation of Serbryakov from Uncle Vanya winning him best performance at the end of years awards night.

Over his time at Napier, he also performed in Love and Information and The beaux Stratagem. Finlay is also performing at this years fringe with ‘The Optimiserables’ debut production ‘You Have Failed Me for the Last Time’. Finlay is passionate about Scottish theatre and classical storytelling and believes that theatre is the beating heart of any community.

When not playing dress up, you can find Finlay cheering on the best football team in Angus, Brechin City or watching a film (He’s seen over 1800, don’t you know!)
